International Journal of Physiology is a double blind peer reviewed indexed international journal which has commenced its publication from January 2013. The journal it is half yearly in frequency. The journal covers all aspects of physiology. The journal has been assigned ISSN 2320-6039 (Print Version) and ISSN 2320-608X (Online Version). The journal is covered by Google Scholar, CINAHL, Scilit, EBSCOhost (USA).
This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.
Scope-
The scope of this journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:
- Cellular Physiology: Original research on cellular processes, signaling pathways, membrane transport mechanisms, ion channels, receptors, intracellular signaling cascades, and cellular homeostasis in various cell types and tissues.
- Systems Physiology: Investigations into the integrated functions of organ systems, including the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, gastrointestinal system, renal system, endocrine system, and nervous system, and their regulation under normal and pathological conditions.
- Neurophysiology: Research on the structure and function of the nervous system, including neuronal excitability, synaptic transmission, neural circuits, neuroendocrine regulation, sensory processing, motor control, and neuroplasticity.
- Muscle Physiology: Studies on the structure and function of skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle, and smooth muscle, including muscle contraction mechanisms, excitation-contraction coupling, muscle energetics, muscle adaptation, and muscle disorders.
- Cardiovascular Physiology: Original research and clinical studies on the structure and function of the heart and blood vessels, including cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac mechanics, vascular physiology, hemodynamics, blood pressure regulation, and cardiovascular diseases.
- Respiratory Physiology: Investigations into the mechanisms of pulmonary ventilation, gas exchange, respiratory mechanics, lung surfactant function, pulmonary circulation, respiratory control, and respiratory diseases, such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
- Renal Physiology: Research on the structure and function of the kidneys, including renal filtration, tubular reabsorption and secretion, renal blood flow regulation, acid-base balance, electrolyte homeostasis, renal hormone secretion, and kidney function in health and disease.
- Endocrine Physiology: Studies on the synthesis, secretion, and regulation of hormones by endocrine glands, including the hypothalamic-pituitary axis, thyroid function, adrenal function, pancreatic hormones, reproductive hormones, and hormone signaling pathways.
- Environmental Physiology: Investigations into the physiological adaptations of organisms to different environmental conditions, including temperature regulation, osmoregulation, hibernation, torpor, acclimatization, and responses to extreme environments.
- Exercise Physiology: Research on the physiological responses to exercise, including cardiovascular adaptations, respiratory adaptations, metabolic responses, muscle adaptations, thermoregulation, fatigue mechanisms, and exercise performance optimization.

IJOP maintains a biannual publication schedule, releasing two issues per year consistently since its inception. Authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts at any time, knowing that our journal is committed to timely and regular publication.

- Manuscript Submission fee - There is no fee for manuscript submission. Manuscript can be submitted any time. Submission is always open
- Manuscript Processing Charges- We charge for manuscript processing from authors. Authors must pay charges only if the article is accepted for publication. The charges are per article. If some author does not want to pay, they can withdraw their article.

IJOP - Archiving Policy
IJOP became an Open Access journal in 2020. All issues post-2020 are archived in repositories such as PKP PN (Public Knowledge Project), LOCKSS and CLOCKSS, Crossref, EBSCO(Host), and the journal's OJS website.
Authors seeking full-length articles, abstracts, reference lists, or citation information for specific articles not accessible on databases like ResearchGate, Google Scholar, or EBSCO(Host) are encouraged to contact the editorial office at editor.phyiosology@gmail.com. We are pleased to offer these supplementary materials free of charge.
IJOP maintains all versions of submitted manuscripts in its database. The versions are maintained either via email, HDD format, or within the OJS system.
Self-Archiving
Authors are permitted to self-archive the accepted and pre-published versions of their articles on personal websites or deposit them in any repository.
